Let me give you a minute, Congressman

From the New Republic...

"The American people see earmarks as the gateway to spending," I remember Tennessee's Marsha Blackburn, a rising House GOP star who stumped tirelessly for McCain, telling me back in December. Asked to recount one time a voter asked her about earmarks on the trail, she fell silent. "Oh, yes, we've, um, let's see ... I'm trying to think ..."

Exactly.

We'll let David Shuster sum it up...

Hiatus over (TNGOP got me back on track)

Let me give you a refresher in what it is to be a Democrat, courtesy of the TNGOP...

To “register” as a Democrat
is to commit publicly and in writing to support a party that believes an expansive government is the answer to all needs and questions (a hand out, always).

To “register” as a Democrat is to commit publicly and in writing to support a party that support appeasement with terrorists and enemies of America, even while men and women are in harm’s way, defending our security and freedoms.

To “register” as a Democrat is to support abortion, even up to the last trimester of pregnancy; to support the notion that special rights for homosexual couples are akin to the Civil Rights fought for by and on behalf of African Americans for decades.

To “register” as a Democrat is to admit publicly that you view tax dollars as possessions of the government and a “patriotic duty” rather than money taken from hard-working citizens and a reduction of individual freedom, that you support doing nothing effective about illegal immigration, rather than addressing the legal and lawful entry into our country as a priority for those who want to work and study legally as citizens.

Do you agree?!! Mr. Hobbs wants to know...

You're invited (to give Congressman Marsha your money)!!!

Some background info from Rep. Blackburn...

I am honored to be a U.S. Congressman. I wake up every day thankful for the opportunity to serve. I want to continue to be your voice in Washington for our conservative values.

In this environment, I intend to work with the new administration when I can, not give up my conservative principles and represent the views of the people in the 7th District.

Our campaign office is open as our staff prepares for another election cycle. I need your help! We must raise money early to prepare for another opponent(s). I know I will always be a target because of being an outspoken conservative.

I appreciate having your support in our re-election effort. It is an honor to serve in Congress, to represent you and our conservative agenda.

We love who?

Let me translate for you

Congressman Marsha would like you to know that she voted against the stimulus because that's what she was told to do. But to back it up, she would like to point out some of that good ol' pork in the bill that she'd never support.

Blackburn Votes ‘No’ On Democrat Spending Bill
“There Are No New Jobs In This Bill, No New Ideas, Just New Spending”

“Today many of my Democrat colleagues have argued that the cost of this massive spending bill is less than the cost of doing nothing. If the choice today was between reckless spending or economic doom I might agree, but it isn’t."

Included in the new spending; is $600 million to buy new cars for government workers, $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts, and $335 million for STD education and prevention.

Translation:

New (hybrid) cars for gov't workers: "I hate Al Gore."

Nat'l Endowment for the Arts: "It's them hippies that like them arts. Hippies and them queer-o-sexuals."

STD education: "What are you talkin 'bout? I thought we only taught abstinence..."

To get different perspectives, let's ask twins

I'll let the reporter sum it up...

On January 27, 2009, CNN hosts two Republican representatives -- Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Zach Wamp (R-TN) to attack the economic recovery package. Blackburn confuses fiscal 2009 (which ends in September) with the entire year to complain the government isn't spending money fast enough. Wamp argues that the federal government shouldn't spend money because local governments are cutting their budgets ("Nobody's talking about streamlining!")

You've gotta keep in mind the staggering difference between Republicans in Chattanooga versus Republicans in Nashville. I mean seriously, thank God CNN included such polar personalities.

Greetings!!!

What does Ann think?

Ann Coultergeist has an interesting opinion...

Hope and unity can only be achieved if conservatives would just go away -- and perhaps have the decency to kill themselves.

Just as I suspected

My 'Man Marsha speaketh goodeth...

“This is a bitter night for of my fellow Tennessee Republicans. I have been in Nashville during trying times and know how disappointing it is when the will of the voter is ignored. Many hoped that after November, the smoky back rooms of Nashville could be sealed off for good. It seems that the same politics as usual that threatened a back door income tax almost a decade ago has re-emerged to overturn the message of the ballot box. The voters put 50 Republicans in the House to change the way our state does business. Now it appears that 49 of them must work harder to ensure their will is carried out.”

Where are these smoky back rooms and can I hang out there?

Oh snap! TN Repub Retards duped!

For those of you who haven't seen or heard about what happened today at the opening of the TN General Assembly, here's the story.

In response, the Queen-B of the TNGOP had these profound words to say...

“Action will begin immediately to address the actions of Rep. Kent Williams. His commitment today was not to Republican Principles, but to the blind and shameless pursuit of personal power. He cast his vote for a Pro-Tax, Pro-Gay, Pro-Abortion, Anti-Gun Liberal Democrat to preside in leadership against all 49 of his Republican colleagues.”

“This challenge will move swiftly to honor the character and integrity of the 49 members of the Republican House Caucus who stand committed to the Republican principles and the voters who support them. Acting like Ronald Reagan in Carter County but Jimmy Carter in the Capitol has resulted in an official challenge of Mr. Williams’s status as a Party member. I look forward to the work ahead with our state leadership to strengthen our party, grow our party and honor the wishes of Tennesseans by electing a true Republican as Speaker of the Tennessee House.”

OK, I fully understand why she and every other Repub Retard is furious. They got screwed^1000. However, this chick just sounds like a looney housewife. Even Congressman Marsha could've given a better response!!!

And P.S.... I love what Wonkette had to say about the whole thing. Free abortions for everyone!
